Lisa M. Cantone, RN, MSM, CLNC President

Lisa M. Cantone RN, MSM, CLNC is the founder and president of L.M. Cantone & Associates Medical-Legal Consulting Services. With over 20 years of professional nursing and consulting experience, she served in medical-surgical, critical care, home care and quality improvement roles. In addition to consulting for attorneys, other legal nurse consulting firms and home care agencies throughout the United States, Ms. Cantone has authored articles on home care corporate compliance and accounts receivable management. Her presentations on medicare regulations, fraud & abuse, corporate compliance and documentation has earned her national recognition as both a resource and leader in home care consulting.

Jolyn Feller, CPA, MBA

Ms. Feller possesses a unique combination of professional experience in financial management, information systems, operational management, and business planning for a variety of healthcare settings. She has provided over 22 years of financial consulting to home care agencies throughout the country and is considered an expert in Medicare Cost Reports.

Prior to working with L.M. Cantone & Associates, Jolyn held several positions with national companies such as Price Waterhouse in a Senior Manager consulting capacity, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield as an auditor in their Medicare Reimbursement and Audit Division.

Ms. Feller received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with Honors (1977) and a Master of Business Administration in Finance (1979) from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. She has been an Illinois certified public accountant since 1981.

Diann Martin, RN, DNSc

Diann Martin, DNSc., R.N., Senior Associate, has specialized in home health for over 25 years. Prior to joining L.M. Cantone & Associates she held executive and administrative positions in both voluntary and hospital-based home care companies. Dr. Martin most recently served as VP, Clinical Services at CareMed Chicago, a component of the University of Chicago Health System, where she directed the care of over 700 patients and led a professional staff of over 350 employees. Diann helped launch six telemedicine projects linking home health patients and providers. She served as a partner in a national home health consulting and management company where she led in-depth financial and clinical assessments for integrated delivery systems. Dr. Martin lectures extensively on home health practice for state and national associations. She has written several articles and book chapters on clinical services in home care.

Cindi Starek RN, BSN, CLNC

Mrs. Starek has an impressive background in health care, culminating from progressive administrative hospital and home care roles. Her experience includes hospital utilization review with process improvement, management of a 32 bed, in patient medical-surgical floor for a large Chicago hospital, home care management, corporate compliance assessments, and legal nurse consulting roles.

Prior to L.M. Cantone & Associates, Mrs. Starek worked for a national home care organization, where she held several progressive management roles. In her most recent role, Cindi worked as an Administrator/Clinical Director, where she was responsible for the day-to-day clinical operations of a multimillion dollar agency. Her leadership resulted in establishing streamlined processes, maximized staff productivity, decreased costs and a positive impact on the agency’s cash flow. Her unique knowledge of the Medicare regulations and home care accreditation requirements has led to several successful corporate compliance assessments and assisted agencies with JCAHO preparedness, resulting in zero Type 1 deficiencies.

Mrs. Starek received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from St. Xavier University in Illinois and most recently obtained a certification in Legal Nurse Consulting from the Medical-Legal Institute in Houston Texas.

Christine Evans, RN, BSN, MBA

Ms. Evans joined L.M. Cantone & Associates with over 25 years in health care. The past 10 years have been dedicated extensively to home health leadership, operational and quality improvement roles. She has led her agencies through successful state and JCAHO accreditation surveys. Christine has continued her education throughout her career. She earned a Bachelors of Nursing degree from the University of Illinois in 1980 and obtained a Masters in Business Administration in Health Care and Human Resource Management in 1995 from Roselle College.
