The Home Care Academy
Purpose: The Home Care Academy
has been formed to provide a learning environment to support the informational,
educational and operational growth of home health managers and executives. The
Academy will offer valuable and timely offerings from key industry leaders with
hands-on expertise knowledge on a wide range of topics.
Potential Seminars and Workshops
- PPS-90 days and Counting: an analysis
of the transition to PPS, the impact on patients, providers, and referral
sources
- OASIS-The Clinical Link to Reimbursement-a
practical workshop designed to enhance OASIS scoring practices and to assist
agency staff with achieving the HHRGs that best fit the patients needs
- PPS Billing Basic Training: this
workshop is designed for billing and reimbursement staff for accurate and
timely billing processes and a hands-on experience with preparing clean claims
and RAPs
- Telemedicine: The Link to the
Future in Home Care Delivery-this workshop will feature reports from a group
of agencies employing remote patient monitoring from both video and physiologic
monitoring systems. Implications for the future of home care will be discussed
- Clinical Supervision in a PPS
Environment: this 4 hour workshop will focus on the role and responsibilities
of middle managers under PPS. Key performance indicators will be reviewed
and practical strategies for managing professional staff resources will be
covered.
- Disease State Management and Home
Health: this workshop will focus on the disease management model and identify
the role that home health providers can play in DSM. Examples of disease management
strategies and protocols will be presented
- Cost Containment Strategies for
the Home Health Executive: this workshop will focus on the allocation of scarce
resources, both financial and human in a cost containment environment. Presenters
will focus on specific expense areas to target, and present examples of successful
cost cutting measures.
- Corporate Compliance for the Home
Care Agency: this presentation will focus on the OIG plan for home care and
will highlight the necessary components of a successful compliance program
in home care. Strategies for implementing a successful program will be given
along with a set of audit tools to monitor corporate compliance
- HOME CARE 101-this series of workshops
is designed for the manager who is new to the industry. It will provide in
depth information overviewing the historical development of the home care
industry, a review of the current market, a review of regulations and standards
for home care and a survivor guide to managing home care from an operational
perspective. (suggest 4 or 5 sessions each 2 hours)
- Financial Statements for the Non
Financial Manager-this workshop will provide detailed review of common financial
reports used by the home health manager. Specifics will include, income statements,
balance sheets, cash flow statements, and budgets. Key information that is
needed by clinical managers will be highlighte
